Amityville Horror

I am sure you have heard of the Amityville Horror, which is the basis for the book by American author Jay Anson and film series of the same name.  On November 13, 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr. shot and killed six members of his family at 112 Ocean Avenue. He was convicted of second-degree murder in November 1975. In December 1975, George and Kathy Lutz and their three children moved into the large Dutch Colonial. After only 28 days,  the Lutzes left the house, claiming to have been terrorized by paranormal phenomena while living there.

The claims on their paranormal experiences of living in the house, has led to controversy and lawsuits about the truthfulness of their story. The debate about the accuracy of The Amityville Horror continues, and despite the lack of evidence to corroborate much of the story, it remains one of the most popular haunting accounts in American folklore.  Since the Lutz family left in 1976 the various owners of the house have reported no problems while living there.

I don’t know about you, but knowing that a whole family was murdered in the house, has me spooked.  How about you?
